Construction Worker finds his way into the heart of millions by helping sick kids find Waldo

Construction Worker Hides Waldo or Wally On Site For Kids In Hospital Next Door

Jason Haney, a construction foreman ,had already been delighting patients and staff at a next-door hospital by placing a blow-up Sponge Bob Square Pants, blow-up snowman on site.

Then a co-worker gave him a brilliant idea.

“He came up to me, and was kind of joking around, and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if there was a Waldo up here?’” Haney told HuffPost. “And I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s kind of cool.’ Then the idea sat in my head for a little while and I was like, ‘I’m going to make him, I’m going to do it!’”

He hides the life-size Waldo (Wally in Europe) in a different place every day.

Once the children at Memorial Children’s Hospital in South Bend, Indiana spot Waldo, he moves him to a new hiding spot.

‘I’ve been watching the kids run over to the window and look out for Waldo,’ hospital staffer Heidi Prescott told ABC News.

‘On a daily basis, our pediatric patients, they look forward to going to the windows in their playrooms in their unit to try to figure out “Where’s Waldo?”

‘It usually only takes a few minutes before they see him peering out of the big scaffolding, but it truly brightens their day.

Haney built the 8-foot wooden character along with his teenage daughter, who was his original inspiration for the game.

Now, they even have a Facebook group so people can post pictures of their finds.
